13th Cherrywood Art Fair: An Artist’s Perspective

Written by Cori Wilbanks

As a Cherrywood-based artist, I have always been a huge fan of the Cherrywood Art Fair. There is always a great collection of music, artists and activities to explore. This year I had the opportunity to participate as one of the artist for the first time.  I really didn’t know what to expect, but the level of hospitality was exactly what I would expect from this warm neighborhood.

As soon as the clock struck ten, there was a flood people wandering the hallways and walkways of the school, and the turnout on both days was fantastic. It is always so rewarding to receive compliments from strangers about your work, especially in the form of a purchase! But what I love the most about art fairs is getting to know the other artists around me. It is intimidating at first, but it often turns out that the people who choose this path in life are extremely humble and generous. I felt very welcomed into the community and can only hope that I see some of these same faces next year.
