21st Neighborhood Tree Planting

By Mike Damal
Cross-posted from the Flea newsletter

On Saturday October 21st Brent Hay, Girard Kinney, Mike Sullivan, and Mike
Damal continued the Cherrywood fall tree planting tradition, by delivering/planting 18 trees. This was the 21st year of planting, giving us a grand total of 676 trees planted with this program. No doubt throughout the years some of these trees have not survived, but it has made a huge contribution to the neighborhood. There is hardly a street in Cherrywood that has not benefited . Proceeds from this program benefit Cherrywood Green—this year $325 has been raised in addition to the cost some perennials and a replacement for a diseased oak tree at the Green. This is just more reinforcement to continue to plant new trees in Cherrywood, to preserve our wonderful tree canopy!
