Cherrywood is an active member of the Austin Neighborhoods Council, which considers citywide issues, as well as the Upper Boggy Creek Neighborhood Planning Team (UBCPT) which is a collection of neighborhoods working with the City of Austin to implement a broad plan on how to improve the member neighborhoods.

The Cherrywood Neighborhood Association Steering Committee (CNA-SC) is the principal representative, governing, and policy-recommending body of the CNA.  Actions of the CNA-SC are governed by the will of the membership as expressed at general and special meetings. CNA-SC meets monthly on the second Wednesday at Taqueria Los Altos, to handle neighborhood matters between CNA quarterly meetings.

All CNA-SC meetings are open to CNA members, and everyone is encouraged to attend the general meetings held quarterly at Asbury Servant Church  on the third Wednesday of February, May, August, and November.
