Bylaws Revision Task Force wants to hear from neighbors

Written by Rich Heyman

At its initial meeting, the CNA bylaws revision taskforce identified the following items to be reviewed/revised:

  • procedures for meeting notification (how, when, & where?)
  • restructuring the steering committee to make it more efficient and useful to the neighborhood
  • possible membership for non-residents, such as business owners, faith leaders, friends of the neighborhood, etc.
  • process for committee formation, dissolution, reporting, member and chair selection, quorum, recordkeeping; defining subcommittees, taskforces, ad hoc committees, etc.
  • process for recognizing “affiliated groups” or organizations

These are issues that have come to the attention of taskforce members for discussion and review–no decisions about them have been made.

I am posting this to invite input from the neighborhood. If you have any suggestions for any additional topics/issues that should be addressed, please send them to me. Also, if you have specific recommendations please send them to me, so that I can bring them to the committee for discussion.

Lastly, I’d like to invite anyone who would like to be a member of the taskforce to contact me. Our meetings will be the 4th Wednesday of the month, at 7pm at Cherrywood Coffeehouse.
