On: BONDS for BOGGY CREEK watershed
Cherrywood NA appeals for one addition to the Bond Proposition – storm drain filters for parts for Upper Boggy Creek in 78722 (between UT and the Mueller redevelopment).
The BEAC recommends $23 million for this Creek. The Rosewood NP Team offers photographic evidence of Creek problems south of 78722 < http://www.geocities.com/rosewoodteam/BCProject.htm > . Wilshire Woods / Delwood II NA collected some 250 pounds of trash from the Creek near Airport Blvd. after the early May 2006 storm. Cherrywood receives runoff from IH35 and west as it heads downstream toward Cherrywood Road and Manor Road < http://asnic.utexas.edu/~bennett/__cwd/4~BG_trash.jpg > (photo taken before the storm). Most comes from HEB, Fiesta, and transients.
One available solution is CDS storm drain filters < http://www.cdstech.com/stormwater/offlineunit.htm > . A CDS contact is < http://www.cdstech.com/salesoffices/tx.htm > .
Encouraging this incremental addition are:
- UBC Neighborhood Plan (Action Items 65 and 66)
- Cherrywood Neighborhood Association
- BEAC (Drainage priorities 6 and 7 of 18)
- Mueller redevelopment (because Boggy Creek flanks 3 sides of this promising project < http://asnic.utexas.edu/~bennett/__map/69~Flood_plan.pdf >
