Cherrywood’s annual Fourth of July parade will take place again this year, marking the first year since 1996 that retiring founders Jeanne Arbuckle and Ray Jordan haven’t been involved.

The tradition continues, with the baton passing to Jennifer Potter-Miller this year, so as in years past, neighbors are invited to gather with their friends and families, pets, noise-makers, and all things red, white and blue.

The parade starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at 28th Street and French Place, and goes down French Place to Cherrywood Green where refreshments await.

Neighbors who would like to bring refreshments to share may leave them at the picnic tables at E. 34th St. and Cherrywood Rd.

There will also be a bike decorating contest there with prizes by Windmill Bicycles.
