Introducing the UT Micro Farm

The UT Micro Farm is the University of Texas’ first student-run, campus farm. We’re growing good food for our local community, while creating and facilitating a number of opportunities for innovation, education, sustainable systems, and interdisciplinary contribution. We’re interested in offering the community the opportunity to learn about organic food production and the ability to explore the ingenuity and creativity that sustainable urban farming requires. We love how communities come together through food and how this space of collaboration cultivates resiliency and positive growth.

This year we’ll be growing vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers for UT dining halls, a campus farm stand, and a neighborhood food shelter. For the fall season we’ll be planting chard, kale, collards, dill, cilantro, broccoli, bok choy, cucumbers, black eyed peas, green beans, cat grass, potatoes and more!

We are student planned, manned, and executed and we always appreciate volunteers. This semester we have scheduled workdays on:

Wednesday 5:00 – 8:00 PM
Saturday     9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

If interested, bring water, gloves (if you have them), and dress for the weather. We are located on 2204 Leona St. which is just on the east side of I-35, near the campus.
