Neighbors to Raise Roof on New Kiosk at Cherrywood Green May 16

Over the years neighbors have worked together to make the Cherrywood Green pocket park at the corner of Cherrywood Rd. and E. 34th St. a more beautiful and enjoyable space. They’ve come together as Friends of Cherrywood Green (FROG) and added picnic tables, crushed granite paths, landscaping and trees, an herb garden, and steps down to the creek. Many of us walk there on a regular basis and consider the park the heart of the neighborhood.

On May 16 neighbors will complete the installation of a new kiosk at the Green, and everyone is invited to help raise the roof onto it. This new addition will serve as a place for neighborhood residents and groups to announce events, sales, lost & found items, and more. The kiosk was built by Terry Dyke, and the first part of the installation has been completed with help from other neighbors. On Saturday, we’ll finish the project and celebrate with a potluck picnic.

If you want to help, bring gloves to help lift the roof in place. Tools will be provided. If you want to lay in the grass and enjoy the beautiful park neighbors have been lovingly caring for over the years, bring some light snacks or drinks to share and a picnic blanket.

We look forward to seeing you there!
