St. Patrick’s Day Green Party Kicks Off New Cherrywood Parents Group

Written by Molly Shaw

Hello and welcome to Cherrywood Parents! I’ve lived in the neighborhood for 3 years, and recently had my second son. Since my family loves to get out of the house, I wanted to find a way to connect with other families nearby. Some friends and I were inspired by the amazing East Side Mamas meetup to organize the Cherrywood Parents Facebook group. Several of us met through the meetup when our kids were babies, and we thought we’d try keeping it even more local since  Cherrywood is chock-full of kids.

The Cherrywood Parents threw a Green Party on St. Patrick’s Day, and had a great time with several families at Cherrywood Green exploring the creek and sharing a potluck. We look forward to organizing more playdates and community events geared toward families with young children this year. Next up is an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 4 at Patterson Park!
