Please join us this Saturday morning, starting at Vida Pura Juicery (previously In.gredients) at 10 am to meet with our City Council Representative for District 9, Kathie Tovo. Council Member Tovo and her staff will be available for meet and greet as well as to discuss your interest topics in city government.
At 10:30 am, we will start the walking tour through Cherrywood (map below) which will go from Manor Rd. down Walnut Ave. and left at 32nd St., then follow Cherrywood Ave. to the Cherrywood Green pocket park at 34th St. We encourage neighbors to join us for the walk and conversation.
We will stop at the Cherrywood Green to visit with nearby neighbors from 10:40-11am, then continue on 34th St. to LaFayette Ave., following our new LaFayette sidewalk to the Cherrywood Coffeehouse, where will end the tour and have time for food and refreshments while continuing the conversation with Council Member Tovo and her staff.
Some topics of interest the Steering Committee has conveyed to Ms. Tovo and her staff include a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) at intersection of Walnut and Manor, Purple Pipe construction working together with our sidewalk construction plan, and the impact of dockless mobility in the neighborhood.
Council Member Tovo and her staff are making a significant commitment to our community by spending their Saturday morning with feet on the street, and it is a very special opportunity to meet with her. Let’s show them all our gratitude with our participation. Please come out and support the event.
Sincerely,
Jim Reed
